Orion hammered on the door, "Professor, theres' something you should see, it's urgent!" he called, he was out of breath having to run from the lawns to one of the higher parts of the castle, he looked at Mahamari then at the Phoenix, "I hope it's not too badly injured." he said, "But why my head?" he groaned, rubbing his head, feeling a large lump forming.

"Like it had much of an option." she said, "Go to the Hospital Wing, get your head looked at, I can sort things out with the professor." she added, looking at him in such a way as to imply, he'd better do as she suggested.

"It fell on my head." Orion explianed, "It looks badly hurt as well, so we took it to you since you're the Care of Magical Creatures professor." he rubbed the bump on his head and winced with the pain.

Mahamari followed the professor into the room, still holding the Phoenix. She was still a little out of breath from running all the way there. She was glad she'd been with Orion, because she would never have known what to do if it had just crashed by her on her own. She thought about something briefly, but pushed it to the back of her mind, this was more important at the moment.

"Righty ho, lets have a look shall we?" Nix said. He carefully took the phoenix and laid it on the table for examining.
"Hmmm, this looks like it was shot out of the sky or something, probably flippendo." He carefully lifted the wing.
"And a broken wing. Leave him with me and I will fix him up as soon as possible." He said.

"Ok," she replied before leaving the office. She saw Orion had followed and grabbed his wrist. "Now I'm taking you to the hospital wing, we passed it on the way. Make sure you're not brain damaged." she pulled him along with considerable force, making sure she didn't let go.

Xaphania opened one eye and gave him an evil yellow glare, 'him? Him?! Is the idiot blind?' Nixemus stared at her, and she belatedly realised that she was supposed to be playing the role of the cute, innocent pet. She squawked weakly, and her head flopped back onto the table.

A hand grasped her wing, and her face twisted with pain, white fire lacing her nerves and hotwiring her spine. 'Let go, you incompetent excuse for a wizard!' She squirmed uselessly as he cast an impedimenta jinx on her and began to splint her wing.

Nixemus stared at the Phoenix for a moment. There was something startlingly familiar about it. Then it was gone. He shook his head in disbelief for a moment, then went back to studying the bird's wing.
