Moishi studied the scroll on the wall one more time, confirming it was him on night duty. He found his name, breathed a giant sigh, bid goodnight to his colleagues and wandered off into the winding corridors of the castle.
His wand lit with a simple spell as he trundled past the many paintings lining the walls, century-old professors disappearing from their frames as they made their way to their beds, some sleeping where they were with one eye open.
Up and down staircases he went, looking closely for AWOL students, but tonight was quiet. No students were out of line, nobody was wondering the corridors - even the toilets were empty. It was cold, quiet, and somewhat unnerving.
